Q. Can I really measure and install custom blinds myself?

A. Absolutely! Custom blinds from TheBlindFactory.com include easy to follow instructions which make installation a snap! Most blinds can be installed with just a cordless screwdriver in minutes! Why pay an expensive installer for what you can do quickly and easily while saving a lot of money?

Q. Do you provide color samples?

A. We would be happy to send you color swatches and samples of our products. We will send you up to 10 product samples via UPS for a small handling fee which can be applied to your future purchase. See each product color page for online sample ordering and we will UPS your samples within 24 hours!

Q. Do you have a catalog?

A. To keep your costs low and your value high, we do not publish a catalog. All you need is listed on this web site. For any additional questions, please contact our customer service at 863-802-5862.

Q. Please define inside and outside mount.

A. Inside mount refers to blinds which are mounted in a recessed window or door opening. This is the most common way of installing custom blinds.

Outside mount refers to blinds which are mounted on the face of a wall or door. This is common on French doors and on windows and doors which do not have sufficient space inside the window or door well to mount the blind.

Q. When will I receive my order?

A. The Blind Factory strives to be the fastest custom blind manufacturer in the United States. We ship most orders within just a few days of an order. Most Plantation Shutters orders ship within four weeks of order. In addition, larger orders or items which are out-of-stock will take longer for shipment. Please contact customer service at 863-802-5862 for stock information. Items shipped UPS are sent ground unless otherwise specified and will take between one day and seven days depending on your location. Next day or 2nd day UPS is available for an additional cost (this does not expedite manufacturing time). Items may not be shipped to a Post Office Box.


Q. Will I receive notification when my order is shipped UPS?

A. All customers providing their e-mail address at time of order will be e-mailed all tracking information including tracking numbers, service type, shipment weight and expected delivery dates once the order has been shipped as long as items ordered are from our Avalon Design line of products. Most other brands ship directly from the manufacturer and do not pass through our shipping department, and therefore, are not able to include shipping information.


Q. Can I change my order once it is placed?

A. All products are custom made to your specifications and therefore can not be changed once products are cut. Please be sure of your specifications before ordering.


Q. What is your return policy?

A. All products manufactured by The Blind Factory are made to the highest quality standards in the industry and every effort is made to assure proper manufacturing. However, if the products are incorrectly manufactured, damaged or are not made to the high quality expected by our customers, the blinds can be returned for remake or replacement. Please contact customer service for an RGA number before returning any product to The Blind Factory. Since all products are custom made to your exact specifications, The Blind Factory can not be held responsible for customer mistakes in measuring, specifications, color, layout or ordering. Please double check your measurements to the closest 1/8 of an inch, noting which measurements are widths and which measurement are lengths and be sure to order accordingly. Be sure not to invert your width and height measurements. When ordering, the width measurement should be written or read first, followed by the length measurement.


Q. Do you manufacture the products you sell?

A. To assure the highest quality standards in the industry, The Blind Factory manufactures over 95% of the products we sell. Unlike many Internet retailers who only act as a middle man, The Blind Factory services you completely from order to your final satisfaction.


Q. What if I want a product not listed on your website?

A. New products are constantly reviewed for submission to our website. If you are looking for a specific product or brand, please contact our customer service department for information.


Q. Do you charge for shipping?

A. We pride ourselves in making your purchase as easy as possible by eliminating hidden costs such as handling and sales tax. All regular priced orders within the continental US which can be shipped UPS ground are FREE! Orders for large blinds (usually exceeding 96" wide or tall), shutters, quick ship options or orders shipped outside the continental US will incur an additional shipping charge. Charges are as follows:

  • UPS ground in the 48 continental states - $3.90 per item with a $14.00 minimum.

  • UPS 2nd day $18.95 per unit with a $48.25 minimum.

  • UPS Overnight $24.75 per unit with a $88.25 minimum.

  • Alaska / Hawaii $24.50 per unit with a $87.25 minimum.

  • Canada 15% of the total with a $49.00 minimum.

  • Oversized freight $24.00 per unit with a $75.00 minimum.


Q. What about sales tax?

A. Orders shipped within the US but outside of Florida will be shipped tax free! Florida customers must add 7.0% state sales tax to all orders. International customers will be responsible for duty and custom costs.


Q. How can I pay for my order?

A. The Blind Factory accepts the following credit cards Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card. Credit cards are charged once an order is placed. Sorry, no C.O.D.'s.


Q. What about dye lot variation?

A. Although our products exceed industry standards for color accuracy, blinds to be used in close proximity should be ordered at the same time to reduce dye lot variation which occurs between production runs of finished materials.


Q. What about Color Accuracy?

A. Although we do our best to make sure that the colors printed on our web site are accurate, actual colors may vary. In addition, subtle color differences and textures may not be fully appreciated on some systems due to differences in monitors and/or display cards. Due to the fact that our products are all custom made, and can not be returned, be aware of these variations before you place your order. If an exact color match is required, then please request a sample before placing your order. Once you receive your sample, keep in mind that all samples may still have minimal color variations as stated above.

Q. What is Fabric Backlighting?

A. "Backlighting" happens when light filters in through translucent fabrics from behind. Our swatches don't show you the effect of backlighting, which can soften colors and highlight fabric textures. If you'd like to see how backlighting affects the color or texture of a particular material please request a sample.

Q. What about shipping claims?

A. You should inspect the product as soon as it arrives and note in writing any signs of damaged or missing items with the freight company at time of delivery. If there is a need to file a claim, save all of your boxes and packaging as the freight company will need these for an inspection. We must be notified immediately of any damaged / missing items and the tracking number associated with the related boxes). We will have the shipping company contact you to set up a time for inspection. The Blind Factory can not be responsible in any way for missing or damaged items due to fault from a shipping company. Damage / missing items will be replaced once the claim is accepted. For UPS shipments, see http://www.ups.com for information.

Q. What about shipping security?

A. To protect against Internet fraud, The Blind Factory can only ship to your credit card billing address (if a credit card is used for payment) unless your identity is verified by your credit card issuing bank. If you prefer to have items shipped to an unverifiable address, payment methods other than a credit card must be used.


Q. What is your warranty?

A. Blinds built within standard specifications, by The Blind Factory are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original owner, listed on the receipt, owns the product. Shipping, packaging, and handling charges to our facility are the responsibility of the customer. All warranty work must be pre-authorized by The Blind Factory prior to shipping. Additionally, this warranty does not cover any conditions resulting from abuse, accidents, alterations, misuse, normal wear and tear, color change that occurs with the passage of time, water, salt, chemicals, or exposure to sunlight. Q. Legal notices:

A. In no event shall The Blind Factory be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential damage, loss, or fee do to the use of its products. All merchandise is property of The Blind Factory until payment is made in full. No cancellations once materials have been ordered or cut. Customer agrees to all terms and conditions at time of order.


Q. Will all of my products arrive to me at the same time?

A. We supply window treatments from manufacturing facilities all over the country. In order to provide you with the promptest delivery, your blinds or shades will be shipped as completed. Thus, you may receive multiple shipments for one order.

Q. I need parts for my blinds. Where can I get replacement parts?

A. There are websites online that specialize in blind parts. One you might check out is FixMyBlinds.com for a large selection of the parts you need.
